Ex- Physician Faces Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
